About Us

History

JR Foods was established in 2001 with the objective of providing restaurant quality meals in a convenient format, suitable for busy working professionals to prepare home-cooked meals and dining with their loved ones as well as for restaurants with limited kitchen facility. To achieve that, JR Foods was one of the early pioneers in the adoption of cook-chill and cook-freeze technology in the manufacturing of ready meals suitable for both the home and the food service retail sectors. Its core brand was JIAYEN, a range of menu dishes that home cooks and restaurants can regenerate by reheating in the oven and serve.

Our Milestones

2001

Incorporation of JR Foods Pte Ltd.

Launch of JIAYEN Brand of ready-to-serve single menu ready meals.

2005

Launch of Chef-In-Box Ready-to-Eat (RTE) One Dish meals

Using our proprietary cook-chill and cook-freeze technology, our RTE meals are of the highest quality, safe and consistent in taste, flavour, and texture.

2008

Launch of Singapore's first hot-vending-machine

Vending machines specially made to serve Chef-In-Box RTEs with its first outlet starting at KK Hospital.

2016

Launch of VENDCAFÉ

Asia's first unmanned vending machine café, compromising a cluster of automated vending machines serving hot food, snacks, coffee orange juice and other beverages.

2017

Launch of Chef-In-Box World Chef Series (CIBWCS)

An authentic range of gourmet Ready-to-Eat (RTE) meals specially curated and endorsed by selected internationally acclaimed, award-winning chefs like Chef Satish Arora from India and Chef Kim Dong Suk from Korea.
